Nullify is challenging cyber-security competition áhosted by UNO (Peter Kiewit Institute) and backed by many of Nebraska's top businesses with the goal of inspiring high school students to go into the field of cyber-security, protecting data on networks (a high in-demand job right now).á Some of the challenges were quite complex, involving knowledge of steganography, cryptography, algorithm analysis, and computer programming.á

Minerva Schools at KGI

Michael Lai (Student Outreach Manager) and Bethany Jana (MNHS 2015) visited all three IBDP ToK classes (zero hour and periods 1 and 3) to speak to our IBDP students about Minerva Schools at KGI <https://www.minerva.kgi.edu/> Minerva describes itself as the first elite university created in the US in a century - but also strives to be affordable, with "needs blind" admissions. Minerva has a special scholarship exclusively for IBDP students and one-fifth of its students were in the IB Diploma Program. Michael and Bethany spoke with a District 66 official but MNHS students were the only ones to receive class visits and personal presentations!
