Again, each Monday morning during the next school year, all high school teachers from the three Millard high schools will meet in course teams called Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for one hour from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. On Mondays, classes for students will begin at 8:45 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. School doors will open on Monday mornings at the usual time providing students who choose or need to arrive at school earlier access to computers, the Information Center and the Guidance Center to meet with counselors. Students will be able to purchase breakfast and meet with friends before classes begin at 8:45 a.m. on Mondays. The bell will ring at 8:39 a.m. on Monday mornings signaling students to proceed to their 1 st period classes.

On Tuesday through Friday each week, classes will again this year begin at 8:00 a.m. The three high schools will dismiss school daily, Monday through Friday, at 3:15 p.m. We will have two different bell schedules, one for Monday with the late start at 8:45 a.m. and one for Tuesday through Friday, with school beginning at 8:00 a.m. The two bell schedules are found below. School will be dismissed at 3:15 p.m. all five days.

Teachers will meet in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) first thing each Monday morning to determine ways to improve achievement and learning for all students at Millard North High School. Our goal is to create a high performing learning culture at Millard North focused on results, consistent improvement and collaboration.

Currently, there are many plans in place for improving student learning and achievement. We know that teachers are the key to accomplishing improved student learning. They need the time, support and the data to accomplish this. PLCs provide a way to help build support systems for teachers and students. PLCs help us set high expectations for student learning and build systems of support to address students’ needs in a timely fashion. Through the collaborative efforts of teachers working and learning together in PLCs, student learning and achievement will continue to improve.
